Ozomatli

Ozomatli, la banda multicultural y polirítmica de Los Angeles, anuncia su nuevo disco Don’t Mess with the Dragon para próximo Abril. El disco es producto de una experiencia colectiva en una galería de arte de LA. Cada miembro del grupo decoró un espacio y ahí compusieron la música. El público pudo apreciar el proceso y participar del mismo.

Ozomatli, the multicultural and polyrhythmic band based in Los Angeles, announces its new album Don’t mess with the Dragon for next April. The album is the expression of a collective experience in an art gallery in LA. Each member of the band decorated an space and there they wrote the music. The public was able to watch and to participate in the whole creative process.

El disco incluye “La gallina” en ritmo de cumbia, “Magnolia Soul” es un homenaje al post Katrina New Orleáns, “City of Angels” se basa en ritmos de hip hop mientras “When I Close My Eyes” en ska. Ozomatli sigue en su línea de diversidad creativa sin ignorar la política. “Violeta” es una balada en español sobre la experiencia de un soldado en Irak. Y en marzo la banda participará en un rally contra la guerra en LA.

The release includes “La gallina,” with a cumbia beat. “Magnolia Soul” is in honor of post Katrina New Orleans. “City of Angels” is a hip hop piece while “When I Close My Eyes” is based in ska. Ozomatli continues its diverse creativity without forgetting about politics. “Violeta” is a ballad in Spanish about a soldier’s experience in Irak, and in march they will participate in an antiwar rally in LA.
